Slash Intended Ozzy Song for Single
Slash recently released the debut single from his upcoming solo album, a collaboration with Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale called "By The Sword," but in a new interview the famed guitarist revealed that the song was not his first choice.
"The problem with this record is, because I have all the guest singers, you run the risk of interfering with the release of other people's records," Slash told Rock Radio. The ex-Guns N' Roses member had initially wanted to release "Crucify," the song he recorded with Ozzy Osbourne.
"That's what the issue was," he continued. "I had to make sure that whatever single I was using wasn't stepping on the toes of that artist's own record – and Ozzy's got a new record coming out."
